You May Qualify for Imperial Irrigation District Rebates
Purchase and installation of heating or air conditioning systems may qualify your household for rebates from IID. The qualifications for the available rebates are based upon the percentage of energy usage provided by IID. The limit for the rebate through IID is $5000 per household, per year for residents, or $10,000 for non-residents. This rebate must not exceed 50% of the total cost of the system purchase and installation. With this in mind, installation includes labor but the labor must be provided by vendors, as opposed to self-installation.
Addition requirements and limitations include:
- All equipment must be new; no rebuilds or used equipment qualifies
- Sales tax and freight are not included in the total
- Fuel switch is not allowed, must be like for like replacement
- New construction does not apply
- At the time of application, you will need to provide your model number, serial number, and receipt of payment in full for purchases and install costs
- Invoices from contractors must be itemized and paid in full
- You must provide AHRI for HVAC measures to verify the energy efficiency
Federal Tax Credits Available for HVAC Systems
Tax credits require similar documentation and proof of purchase as IID while offering up to 30% for HVAC systems installed by 12/31/19. Tax credits are available for energy-efficient equipment for HVAC and additional energy-saving equipment including:
- Geothermal heat pumps
- Small wind turbines
